Your role To enforce all on-street permitted parking regulations in all controlled zones/beats, in accordance with the Traffic Management Act 2004 in the WLA Council s Boroughs. To issue Penalty Charge Notices (PCN s) using a hand-held computer terminal (HHCT) to vehicles found to be in contravention of the parking regulations. To authorise the removal of vehicles in accordance with policy using the HHCT. To record, report and take appropriate action on any defects found in street furniture, including signs and road markings, or any suspect vehicles in accordance with local procedure. To attend when necessary adjudication hearings to give supporting information in connection with contested PCNs.
To represent the Company and the Council by promoting good public relations, providing advice and information concerning parking related matters, whenever asked, in a courteous manner. To ensure copies of all PCN or Warning Notice tickets are printed and handed in with all necessary paperwork at the end of each shift or working day. Previous experience of working with members of the public and in a customer service. Ability to work flexible hours on a 24 hour/365 day shift pattern, including weekends and bank holidays as required. You will hold a City and Guilds Level 2 for Civil Enforcement Officers (Parking) or Security Industry Authority (SIA) and a full UK Driving Licence. You will have the ability to act in a professional and courteous manner whilst maintaining the reputation of both Serco and the Local Authority as a public facing officer. As a Contract Support Officer, your specific role is to provide general security of the site including some or all of the following:
- internal and external patrolling, which may include locking/unlocking premises
- access and egress control
- dealing with various emergency situations, including reportwriting and communicating with emergency services
- key control
- demonstrate an understanding of excellent customer care
- efficient reporting of loss, stolen and/or vandalisedequipment and/or property

Must have valid SIA Door or Guarding License.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On 11/14/2015 at approximately 1338 hours, the Vermont State Police responded to Wheelerville Road in the Town of Mendon, Vermont, after a concerned citizen observed a male throw a rock through a window of a vehicle and steal a purse in the parking lot of Brewer’s Corners. A brief description of a suspect vehicle was provided to 911 by the witness.
While responding to the scene, hikers walking along Wheelerville Road provided a further description of the suspect vehicle which was broadcasted to area law enforcement.
Another concerned citizen came into contact with the suspect vehicle and followed it on US Route 4 into Killington, Vermont. This concerned citizen assisted the Vermont State Police with updates as to the vehicles path of travel from Wheelerville Road.
The vehicle, a white Ford F-150, was located and stopped on the Killington Access Road by State Police.
A subsequent investigation found that 23 year old Bryce Smith-Wallett of Rutland, Vermont, had heaved rocks through two vehicle’s windows at Brewer’s Corners and stolen among other items, a tote bag and purse. An I-Phone belonging to one of the victim’s was later located shoved between the seats of the truck. Glass from the Victim’s windows was also found in the truck.
Smith-Wallett was taken into custody and processed at the Rutland Barracks.
Smith Wallett, who ultimately cooperated with the State Police, accompanied Troopers back to the scene where the above mentioned tote bag was recovered.
The above mentioned purse was not recovered, and it is believed it was picked up by an unknown person or persons along the roadway.
The State Police are asking anyone who was in the area on 11/14/2015, who may have located this purse along Wheelerville Road, to contact the State Police, so it can be returned to its rightful owner.
Smith Wallett was charged with the following: Unlawful Mischief (Two Counts); Larceny (Two Counts); False Information to Law Enforcement (One Count).
This case remains an active investigation, and further charges may be pending.
